I am a member of the socialist alliance. Mamdoub Habib was tortured and like Hicks has not been charged with anything conclusive that renders him a terrorist, I know him, he wouldn't hurt a fly. Anyone with understanding of Sri Lanka would know that there are issues there with regards to ethnicity and development, issues which Tamils trying to build there country post tsunami, will rightfully have issues with. Terrorist is a construct. It is a false threat created and used to manipulate good meaning people to allow them to justify the way government chooses to pursue its foreign policy interests. This is a pretty basic concept that Socialist Alliance is trying to communicate. We need a mass protest because the invasion of Iraq has caused a million deaths, this is surely the most evil treachery.
