Lal Masjid Vs Hazrat Bal
by AARVEE RAMKI on Jul 18, 2007 10:04 AM

While the action by Pak Govt in Lal Masjid case is widely acclaimed by the world media in general and Pak media in particular, I cannot help remembering the Hazratbal episode. The govt acted with its hands tied and there was oppostion from many quarters including the media due to its pseudo securalist policy. The Pak govt acted tough, the indian govt. was not firm in its actions, fearing the opposition from the so-called intellectuals and human rights activists. I'm now surprised, why karats, yechuris, mulayams, tseestas, arundathi roys and n.rams are silent.
