Of course, you are aware that there is an election in Australia in two months time and the John Howard government has done nothing under its 2004 Terror Laws. In fact a former Australian judge has been quoted as saying that the Haneef arrest will go well with the voters. So while it is nice to talk about vote banks in India, please do not forget that just because Howard and his cabinet wear suits and speak English, they are still politicians with a hunger for power.
