You need to understand that US has been quite IMPOTENT in dealing with Pak-Afgan border. US defence sector is unable to get cost effective bang-for-buck. Soon they will be out-manufactured by China. One option they have is to recognize congruency with Indian legal structure and build civil as well as strategic cooperation.
