Slight negative publicity Nimitz visit received accross all leading newspaers in India was probably due to forcing issue on identity papers of personnel. Fortunately there was no real damage done. Such dissonance is a natural response to non-compliance with the letter of Indian law on Indian soil. US interests are served in a wholesome manner with a policy for mutual trust in each other's laws. With India, interests and values can easily go hand in hand, if only things can be seen in a commonsensical way. ___Having said this bit too far, time to retreat in this retreat!
