BARC is not full of DUMB HEADS. It is upto our political leaders to take decision regarding efficient utilization of guys in this department.
It was way back in 1980's when US backed out of energythrough Nuclear route when it was faced with 3 mile island and chenobyl happenings.
That was shutters down for US. But india continued to catch up with US and we indeed have talented scientists who need direction.
India and BARC can not do much about nonavailablity of Uranium in India. Which we need even if we go for thorium based FBR technology.
In 1978 I changed my course to OIL industry but I know Most talented guys from our physics department went in for BARC. I know , I was not as half talented or committed to persuing research in Nuclear energy
