Men in Burqa? A cleric too?
by Mak C on Jul 06, 2007 05:41 PM

Does'nt Islam prohibit men from using the burqa? We had hordes voicing their opinion on the misuse of burqa by bollywood men and then for this cleric who is supposed to uphold the teachings of the faith to use it only shows how idiotic the people receiving religious sermons can get in being mislead by such hypocrites. It is alarming that people who are being brainwashed by these clerics are young students who will in turn pass on the extreme teachings to their children and the hate filled legacy will continue. When are we going to accept that knowledge has moved way beyond the need for blindly reverting to ancient religious dogmas, rituals and beliefs irrespective of the ideology, probably appropriate in the era of introduction but certainly not now. Somewhere within this acceptance will lie the solution to end the madness prevailing in the name of religion and terrorism it's overt expression, which is surprisingly even engulfing the educated who have the ability to analyse and filter the bullshit, irrelevant in religion today, from the principles still relevant.
