Criticizing a religion that is more of a hate-cult than a religion is not uncivilized behaviour. In the 1930s and 1940s nobody criticized Nazism. Today we know the cruelty of the Nazi ideology. Islam is no different.
I agree that human beings are the same. For that, I would refuse to hate muslims. But nobody can stop me from hating thier Islamic ideology.
