An analysis
by Saurabh Nirantar on Jul 05, 2007 07:42 AM

In every country in the world where muslims are a minority, they engage in militant activity. Starting from the east, Australia, Philipines, Thailand, Bali, India, Russia, Germany, France, UK, Spain, USA. These countries have very diverse cultures, but all have trouble with Muslims. Therefore the common element being Islam, it is a logical conclusion that Islam is the factor behind the militancy.
On the other hand in all countries where muslims are in a majority, the country is immediately declared an "Islamic Republic" and oppressive laws are passed against non-muslims. Starting from the east, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pak, Iran, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Saudi A, etc. None of these countries treat non-muslims equally, eg in terms of inheritance, public office, political power etc.
All non muslim countries are secular and do not have laws discriminating on religious grounds, but all muslim dominated countries have discriminatory laws and turn a blind eye towards oppression of non-muslims.
The above facts clearly implicate Islam as the source of bigotry, since culture, history etc are widely diverse.
The main problem with islam, in my opinion, is it's prohibition on free thought. Rational enquiry that conflicts religious dogma is criminalized...only a severe upheaval can change such a mindset.
