UAE: Though predominantly Muslim, it still allows other religions to have their places of worship. They have a better emphasis on education and they have good business policies....all of which have helped sustain a non-oil reliant economy. But you are mistaken if you think they are not dependent on oil. Lot of the wealth of the super-rich their is in the form of assets that are heavily invested/securitized in oil.
Malaysia: Extremely rich in natural resources.....however since they dont have lot of land.....reality will catch up with them. Malaysia also has good economic policies in place and in general places emphasis on education.
In 40-50 years from now they will face the heat from a growing population.
