Youth and politics
by Aspee Desai on Sep 19, 2007 05:10 AM

We are a rapidly progressing nation & seem to represent one of the most intelligent pool of professionals in all trades accross the world. However, at home we are victims to this corrupt and unreliable political leadership. The biggest problem in politics today, is entry of criminals instead of our educated youth. For eg, some local criminals enter politics, survive on haftas from slum dwellers and also use them as sureshot votebanks and readily get elected. The reason being the educated class is reluctant to vote and ignore an important civil responsibility. Indeed, the politicians that represent our communities, township, suburbs, cities and states are these criminals. We never voted for them yet they come to power and have made us victims of corruption, crimes, illegal constructions etc etc. We ourselves are responsible as we ignore our right to vote. Lets spread this awareness in educational & professional organisations and built a clean hormonious society, though the YUVA POWER!
