Mumbai flood
by Hariharan shankaran on Jul 03, 2007 08:01 PM

During the previous Mumbai flood my wife was in a three tire compartment of train originated from Secondarabad to Mumbai. The train was literally abandoned by the engine driver after switching off the engine which was stopped near Panvel. There was no attempt from the nearby Station Master to make some rescue operation of the stranded passengers who were new to the place. My wife wrote the full address on the bags, her ultimate thought that the bags will give a clue of her end. An ordeal for more than 30 hours there in that place. Leave alone the Mumbai Municipalities what about the might Railway system in such a situation. She managed to escape the death on that day.
