Sat Killer
by Arvind Dayal on Jan 25, 2007 10:07 AM

It would probably be more discreet for us to send up "killer satellites" that could be launched as such or as part of regular satellites. These could then be manoeuvered close to the targeted satellites and either detonated or using smaller missiles shoot down the targets. Also those Indian sats that have passed their "best before" dates could go into sleeper mode and be simimarly used, provided that they were armed for this role.
There would be no detectable launches from the ground in times of crises, no waiting for 'launch windows'and rapid knock outs. A good account is given in the book: Pakistan to Burma: the Rebirth of India (Manas, New Delhi, 2005) written by me.
The technology is not complex and could be deployed at much lower cost that using ICBMs etc
