China's ASAT Weapon system...
by Chakra Dhar on Jan 25, 2007 01:36 AM

Thanks for a very informative article on the subject. Few days back, there was a dismissive statement from one of our central ministers on this subject. One wonders if our government has any will to prepare our nation for this continuous threat from North. We seem to be very defensive about criticising China. No less alarming was the interview with our National Security Advisor M K Narayanan who was extremely defensive about any criticism of China. Mr. Narayanan felt comfortable in finding fault with our own media in order to defend Chinese position/statements. I wonder why we are so chicken when it comes to confronting China with the facts. India needs to aggressively address any move by China to corner India. Except the communists in India, I am sure most of the political parties will support government efforts. The least, the government can do is to come out with an official response to this development and ask the defense services to advise the government with a plan to address China threat in a comprehensive manner. We at least need to know how much it will cost us to keep at par, if not get ahead, with China.

With Regards,

Chakra Dhar
