Interpretation on IX Schedule ... by Amit Kapadi
by Amit Kapadi on Jan 12, 2007 09:50 AM

India is a democratic country and its people are entitled to enjoy certain freedom. The constitutional laws should be to protect the democracy. However, our politicians, for vote bank purpose, murder the basic structure of the constitution and create bias in the society. Also, does the politicians have the capacity to interpet the laws and decide the best? The role of supreme court is to govern such laws.
The Supreme Court has no authority to interpret the operational matters such as Nuclear deal agreement, but it stands above Parliament in judicial review.
