Kashmir
by kanakadurga murali on Jan 09, 2007 08:20 PM

As he says we should indeed hold a referendum in Kashmir according to the 1972 UN resolution and then see. The Indian Govt. knows most of the Kashmiris want to stay with India. So there is no need for us to worry in holding a referrendum. This will also show to the world are we are a law abiding country and respect the UN unlike US,Isreal,UK and their coalition partners. Otherwise we are no different from them. Power hungry cold blooded murderers!

Moreover during the partition all muslim majority states should have gone to Pakistan according to the British Mandate and Kashmir at Independence was 99% muslim. However it being ruled by a Hindu King at that time was not able to join Pakistan because he didnot want to join. There after is a fact known to the whole world. Both countries tried to occupy it and India has 2/3rds of it and Pakistan 1/3rds.

The real solution would come when both vacated their illegal occupation and let the Kashmiris decided what they want to do. Join India, Join Pakistan or remain Independent.
