India will be better off without all the burden of having to \"integrate\" north east- strange, given the fact that most people in the North East have no affinity to India. I have several friends in that part of the world, who say they are going to \"India\" if they were to travel out of their states. No offense meant, they are really nice people but do not have a great sense of identity and affinity to this amorphous country we call India! Let them be a federal state with minimal intervention. Nothing much to lose for the rest of the Indian poplation except for possibly an import duty on tea!!
