Indeed a matter of great shame that even after so many years of constant erratic power supply throughout Maharashtra, there is no concerted effort being taken by any god-damn government to revive the Dabhol Power Project. One can understand if the government has to contribute every single paisa from its own pocket resulting in the delay for reviving the project due to paucity of funds. Furthermore, a golden chance forthcoming from various industrialists for reviving this project should be reason enough for the government to use its sixth sense and restart this project without any delay. Major conglomerates like Tatas, Reliance and other blue chip companies, to name a few, have been time-and-again knocking through bureaucratic channels since they understand (understood) the criticality of this situation. They are even ready to contribute from their funds, albeit they are deprived of this opportunity and put in the back-burner. So much of bureaucracy and red tapism is involved to get a nod, leave aside actual revival. I speculate that very soon there will be no takers to revive this project%u2026.and yet we put our chest out and raise our collars high to say that we are on the road to acquiring a global recognition, and day dreaming in surging past China, when actually we do not have even the least of infrastructures in the right place. The light of the day has to be seen when these basic amenities becomes a reality for the common man. No mincing of words.
