Need a Lifesaver or Brian????
by Prem Kumar on Feb 20, 2007 09:15 PM

This event is yet another blackmark in developing India.

One friend below pointed out why Gov. didn't have a mandatory lifesaver in boat? why is that our actions are always reactionary????

When 80 innocent school kids were burnt in fire in Kumbakonam school in TN, only then we started looking into something called "Fire-codes" - before then, even big companies didn't have such plan. Immediately, there was a big farce of implementing fire policies in all schools & Gov building but years went past, everything sleeping now. Seriously, is that how we gonna be? We lose so many lives and learn one deadly lesson only to forget that in few years??? How many of us are following proper rules in our day-to-day lives, first of all? How can we blame Gov alone, after all, we are the Government! [at least, suppose to be!]

We celebrate the new russian Nuclear installations without understanding the humangous tragedy lurking in the dark. While we are so susceptible to terror attacks, can we even imagine what devastation it can cause? Are we gonna learn only after such an incident occurs, good forbid!

Please, we need to be proactive and pro-poor, Because they are the ones who often in receiving end.
