See the problem with ignorance is that it breeds more ignorants!
The etymology of the word Hindu is this.The persians(the Present Iranians) do not have the sound Sa and what ever is startin with sa is replaced with the sound ha.This way teh week sapta in sanskrit became hafta in persian and the river sindhu was called Hindu.The persians called those lot of people on the other side of the river sindhu as Hindus.Incidentally Hindy denotes a geographical collection of people and has no religious connotation.There is no word called Hindu in any of the Vedas! The India was the corrupted version of the river Sindu and the civilisation along this river was called Indus valley civilisation.
