The article is not to an attack on Islam...

Japanese do not treat Americans as their enemies though the latter dropped an atom bomb on their country not very long ago. But it does not mean the history books in Japan do not say about this fact. In fact this bombing and the consequent human misery have made so much impact on Japanese themselves that they never talk about making nuclear missiles though they are in a much better position than the pauper countries like Pakistan and North Korea.

Histor has to be read with facts. Then only you can draw proper lessons that could help future generations. What Mr. Gautier has told us is an unadultrated piece of history. Let us try to see it as history and not as a muslim persecution of Hindus.

The problem in this country has been the lack of serious research and documentation of historical facts. The facts brought out by William Dalrymple in his latest book 'The last Mughal' are based on certain documents preserved in Indian archives which were never even touched by any of the so called historians of India. What a shame? Indian historians have interpreted history in the terms they wanted or their political bosses liked. This 'colouring' of the history has deprived us of the knowledge of our real past.

In conclusion I can say, there is no harm in knowing our not-so-happy past and infact we should encourage only those historians who tell us facts based on credible evidence. We should learn from history but not to repeat it...
