Perhaps that is one reason for there being no forcible conversion amongst Sikhs. In facts they were originally Hindus who started sporting beard and hair and possessing the five Ks. It is true that till recently the first son of many a Hindu family became a Sikh voluntarily. I do not know if the practice is prevalent even now.
