I too believe that children are taught to look squarely at their own history, the good and the bad, the evil and the pure.
The basic idea is to learn from the history so that we do not commit same crimes. I believe we Indians fail in this matter.
Please explain how buddists, jains and the untouchables were slaughtered and their religions were systematically destroyed by our great Hindu rulers and their priest class.
We have records of that in our won religious songs and mantras we chant.
For example, Why Buddha's tree was cut down, How jains were left dying on spikes etc.
