Yes, Kannagi was an Andhraite, she married Kovalan who was a Kannadiga. They went to Madurai and Kovs got killed by a Mallu King. And the whole episode was written in Swahili by Ilango AdigaL, and misinformed Tamilians think that Swahili is their language. By the way Ilango AdigaL is a Brahuii word with no connection whatsoever to modern Tamil. In fact modern Tamil is a derivative of ancient Kannada in which were written innumerable classical treatises including ThirukkuraL, TholKappiyam, Aha Nanooru, Purananooru and countless other works of Kannada brilliance. The unassuming Kannadigas later retreated to Humpi and left the Tamil Land, originlly theirs, to a people who came from Australia, Singapore and Ceylon in Catamarans fitted with outboard engines. They did this voluntarily, in a spirit of brotherly accommodation and because their wives had brought them millions of acres of land as dowry north west of present day TN. So they moved there, and changed their language & changed its name from Tamil to kannada. Similarly Marathi is originally a language spoken by the smae people who moved south to present day KN for similar reasons, with similar magnanimous gifts being made to different set of people who moved in there.
