WHO WILL BE THE BENEFIT WITH TRIBUNAL VERDICT? ============================================== In the future, Karnataka will the the most badly hit by the Verdict, coz Karnataka will utilise water only 50% to Irrigation , but remaining 50% to DRINKING !! YOU CAN STOP IRRIGATION for some time, BUT , YOU CAN NOT STOP DRINKING WATER.
In My view, If Karnataka Will take proper Action, then Tamil Nadu will be the worst badly hit by the TWDT, How? According to TWDT, Karnataka have to release water 192 tmcft water in prescribed format in a year. If Karnataka builds more storage dams (not big, its small) through out the Cauvery Delta, Then We Can store As much as water in Rainy Season, Karnataka can store above 740 tmcft water in rainy season by constructing more small dams, But Karnataka must follow the Verdict by releasing only 192 tmcft water. Then Karnataka will be the more gaining state by the TWDT Verdict.
The Flow ========= Cauvery basin extends over an area of 87,900 sqkm which is nearly 2.7% of total geographical area of the country. The basin lies in the State of Karnataka ---36,240 sqkm Tamil Nadu-- 48,730 sqkm Kerala ----- 2,930 sqkm
When will be the Problem ======================== The Problem arises when drought will hit the south India, Karnataka Region is using water 50% on irrigation 50% Drinking water. Tamil Nadu 75% on Irrigation & 25% on Drinking Water.
Solution one ============ Cauvery water should proportionately allot the water on the basis of Flow of the water which is described as above. Karnataka ---36,240 sqkm ______ in Tamil Nadu-- 48,730 sqkm Kerala ----- 2,930 sqkm
Solution Two ============ Cauvery Water should allocate on the study research on water consumption and storage whole year and especially when drought will hit the states.
Permanent Solution ================== Permanent Solution will take some time, and need some money too. We have to build Two small dams one in the state of Karnataka, at beginig of cauvery flow after 50% distance of full flow of Cauvery after birth of place of Tala Cauvery where Cauvery will flow. and another one in Tamil Nadu, where The water Coming from the Karnataka will store immediately after its release in floods. If you are confusing, why two dams? here is the my answer. We have to plan especially when floods will hit the two states.
My point that we should store as much as water in rainy or floods seasons. WE ARE WASTING OUR FLOOD WATER BY DISSOLVING IT IN BENGAL SEA.
