How come she is an Indian-American astronaut? She is not born in India. She did not study in India. She is not working for India. The work/research she is doing is no way going to help India. Its not funded by Indian government. Officially, it has nothing to do with India. She may be a lady with roots in India but she is just American astronaut.
Also, are we supposed to celebrate the news? Just because her parents used to be Indian who are well settled abroad and have no plans of coming back also?
OK, you can say I am narrow-minded. I should think about the world as a family. In that case, she was not alone there. Just say that NASA's astronauts did so and so.
