By just feeling good that we did all those things some 2000 years back is not going to make us proud and even if we did feel so, we are further ruining things. Common guys, let's not live by what we did in past. let's do something now that will make us feel proud. And none of those Kalpana Chawlas and Bhatias did what they did, being in India. they had to go elsewhere to achieve them. hargobind and amartya would not have got the nobel prizes if they had stayed in india. indira nooyi wouldn't be the CEO of a soft drink major should she have stayed in india. i can't think of a world class product from india other than Titan watches. all those percentage of indians in multinationals and other major companies seem to be working their best if they are paid in dollars and pounds. if they were so capable of achieving things, why is that they ditched India? i would be a proud indian only if we achieve something outstanding being in India. I can't think of any more than a handful of great contributions from india in the last 100 years. by just telling that 17% of intel scientists are indians, does it mean the rest are from the moon or planet mars? none of those companies orininated from India. tell me a company from India that is measured at par with Intel. So pls don't just be proud that we did all those things way back in the 2nd century B.C. or 700A.D. Live the present.
