Defensive support
by Aditya on Feb 02, 2007 08:50 PM

Musharraf is an extremely intriguing character. His history with the Pak military certainly has me wary of him, along with his actions in toppling Sharif. He is however trying to do something for his country. Yet, he does have clandestine relations with the fanatics whom he still harbors. I don't know if he believes and supports their cause, or that he wants to appease his people.
One thing is for certain... he is MORE POLITICIAN THAN A GENERAL and that may actually benifit Pakistan in the long run. For now, we must go along with the peace process because it is beneficial to us. Complacency however would be a mistake. In this relative lull, we have to build up our intelligence system and make them competent enough to counter the ISI (who sadly are out performing us right now).
