The Sacchar commitee report has laid to rest the allegations of communal forces and their created idea of Muslim Appeasement by successive governments!!!
If the successive govts were appeasing Muslims unlike the BJP-RSS-BD combo there would not have been vast majority of muslims (by far the largest griup) languishing in Indian jails!
They would not be under represented in the Parliament!
They would not lag behind in Education and Employment in Govt. Offices!
They would not be equated below even the SC/STs in this country due to their Socio-Economic Conditions!
A treatise could be written about persecution of Indian Muslims by Indian Hindus but unlike Hindus Muslims donot carry the Burden of History on their shoulders!!!
As far as voting is concerned I would agree that if India Muslims voted enbloc to a particular party or candidate who would safeguard their interests or atleast make sure that they live in peace in this country the pathetic conditions of Muslims in India, that today it is would have been much better!!!
The Indian Government would do well not to spend millions of dollars on India Shinning Campaings. Rather work towards the development of the country without communalising the environment and safeguarding the interest of all the communities in the country and providing justice to the grieving parties with out partiality (To uphold rajdharma as Vajpayee put it but himself could not hold it in the face of carnage faced by muslims in gujrat:Or maybe he meant to uphold SELECTIVE rajdharma?)
