, but even the Prime Minister%u2019s word is of no value, because Chandigarh is still a union territory.
Now, I agree that IB is not local police, but as an intelligence agency, they certainly should and must investigate. If they can investigate and declare that Bhindranwale was a threat to unity of India, then why not investigate the elements that create tension that leads the Sikh community to feel alienated and detached from the rest of the Indian society. The Sirsa matter is still not resolved, even though this guy has openly insulted the Sikh faith and Gurus. He%u2019s a threat to India%u2019s unity also, but I don%u2019t see a Bluestar-like operation to bring him under control.
Bhindranwale has just become a scapegoat for all who can not solve India%u2019s issues but rather look to put blame elsewhere, whether it%u2019s the Central govt doing this or the Punjab govt or public at large%u2026 WHY SO? Because it%u2019s the easy way out%u2026 pick someone and label him a terrorist and all of a sudden we have someone to blame. We all jump on this bandwagon, because it gives us an escape mechanism. The grievances of Punjab still exist today as they did before Bhindranwala.
