The Changes in Pakistan
by ravi prakash on Dec 29, 2007 12:19 PM

The situation in Pakistan is detrimental to India as its neighbour. The conditions in Pakistan are such that the moderate sections of the population and the civil society at large will examine its options to lead a normal peaceful life. There seems no way in which the Military wil ever step aside willingly. The extremist sections of the population will ensure it for a long time to come.
The other option to the civil society is migration and where else but to India and the West.
India has to therefore prepare for a massive migration of poor and largely peaceful people amongst the Pakistanis.
The massive demographic changes taking place in the border areas would slowly move inland and alter the shape of the politics and governance of this land.
Who knows this may set India on the road to Talibanisation with accompanying bloodshed that one is seeing in Pakistan now.
