Brilliant analysis and well articulated, Mr. Verma. It%u2019s almost shocking how in this day and age the nation of Pakistan still represents an impoverished, fundamentalist and backward state that struggles to maintain any semblance of a democracy!!
I feel proud to be an Indian (and I don%u2019t mean that in a Pakistan-bashing way) just going by how far we have come in terms of economic prosperity and security. Sure we still struggle with our own issues of communalism, poverty and corruption but we deserve to take pride in our achievement since partition and propel forward.
If anything, our leaders ought to learn from Pakistans mistakes on how the merger of religion and state (and military) can yield disastrous consequences for any prospering state!
