Irrespective of who did what and who did it first, i think it in engrained indian mentality to take take things beyond context and behave with means not commensurate with the what the situation needs. I guess VHP is turning a little too militant (may be or the right reasons or may be with the excuse that they might be using to justify these actions). I fully endorse stiff resistance against conversion. Conversion is a bane of society and we have seen how the converts become the moment they cleanse themselves off the their roots. Their allegience is questionable no doubt but then on the flip side whose isn't? Check out our filth ridden politicians. These guys dont wisen with age but simply rot more and more as time passes. It is hindus who are selling out the hindus. It is a very sad affair.
