Why Modi appeals to Hindus?
by Gauzbig Sauntel on Dec 25, 2007 01:05 PM

The BJP leadership has constantly displayed a willingness to break the law and/or undermine the constitution of India while at the same time being unwilling to face up to the consequences of their actions.

Quite obviously there are no qualms for thier supporters in this hideous irresponsibility that is being played out.

Mr Modi would rather avoid the consequence of his governments abject failure to bring justice to hapless riot victims. Civil society in Gujarat will pay a heavy price for its dereliction of duty.

Violence has been an accepted way of life in Indian society and we have seen the fallout of this more than once. However witnessing in Gujarat a blatant attempt at glossing over the cause of justice is quite unparalleled in free India.

Leaders willing to use the apparatus of the state for repression and executing summary justice are given renewed political mandates as we as a society hide our head, ostrich like, to such brazen failure and subversion of the legal system.

Is this in the long term interest of anyone?

Shame on you Mr Raman you would rather let pride of being a Hindu prejudice you to your responsibity as a human being. A sad travesty of religion and justice this.

I guess you and Mr Modi will have to give account for the injustice that has been heaped on helpless citizens I am not sure your pride will bail you or Mr Modi out. As for those who would wink and connive well there will always be consequences to face up to.
