Do you think the complete abdication of the Government's role in enforcing the rule of law is a good thing for civilized society?
Gujarat is very low on human rights. It might rank lower than some of the BIMARU states today. This a sad day for any civilized society.
Gujaratis live in fear. It is a fact. Talk to most of them who justify extra-judicial killings in the so called fight against terrorism. You will be surprised at such a scared middle class (possibly no where in the world not even in society driven by civil war like Lebanon or the occupied west bank. This is no exageration)
Terrorism should be fought through government agencies trained for this purpose and by using the proper means.
Fostering the culture of fear and violent repression (without proving guilt and here I am not referring to guilt by association) is not an answer, it will have serious long term repercussions for us all.
We are seeing that in the US. The good news there is thier own citizens are not directly targeted (indirect targeting is already coming home to roost)
