Are those who have stood deprived for long since independence, not entitled to be treated on par with others ? If there can be reservations for others due to past discrimination, do Muslims not qualify due to the same situation since 1947 ? There is an International Convention on Civil & Political Rights, one on Rights of Minorities, etc., which India has either signed or ratified. The Constitution requires those treaties to be respected and their terms honoured.) So many smaller temples are closed for 'want of funds' and priests are so poor they cannot eat two square meals a day. Why should Govt spend 15% of funds on Muslims, when there are many 'stinking rich' muslims who can fund their own community welfare ? (Because the %u201Cstinking rich%u201D Muslims also pay tax, and the 23.461 percent Muslims too are Indian citizens entitled to a fair chare of the national wealth. Are you suggesting that Government should fund others only, and not Muslims ?) Why should the tax-payers' money be spent 'selectively', when there are numerous poor Hindus?
