Fire Brand Journalist SHEELA BHATT Rediff 23 December 2007 must be complimented by intellectuals at least if not fellow journalists for calling a spade a spade. All pollsters Print and Electronic Media by hook or crook were trying their best to infuse an impression on the Indian polity as if Narendra Modi was a criminal. All statements of dubious politicians were highlighted in maligning the bachelor politician of high morals dedication to nation and integrity with no inheritance or any progeny to succeed him. Even Satta Bazaar seems to have been manipulated for which if Revenue Intelligence boys are serious enough to find out money which changed hands and sides would be an eye opener for the nation which is being led to believe a story as truth which in reality is not. The media as such appears to be more commercial and affiliated to one big group or international chain of newspaper giants in publications and politically motivated. If the Leftists blame media for partisan reporting and so does the Saffron brigade it is no surprise for intellectuals. Sheela Bhatt for that matter has rightly but reservedly tried to analyse the fiasco. Hopefully she would come out with a sequel to fill up the gaps which she has perhaps inadvertently left out in her narration. Still our kudos is due to her to keep the independent flag of media in national interest. TV Kumar Noida.
