Religion is way of life and depend on your culture and surrounding environment.
1. Condition for Islam is suitable for middle east so it is spreaded there. 2. Condition for hinduism is suitable for south asia so hinduism is spreaded here. 3. Condition for Buddhism is suitable in china / Japan so it is spreaded there.
I think it is hard that other religion can exists long in south Asia.
