Dear Mr.Edwin Sundar,
I think you have NOT fully read Dr.Diamonds speech. In one of the above paragraph he says: ""You cannot defeat an insurgency by military means. You must address the social misgivings and grievances of marginalised groups. This is not an affirmation of their violence, of their willingness to eschew political channels to voice their message. It is an acknowledgement of core, entrenched inequalities that exist, and very often, ignite these insurgencies."
I think with these words he has fully addressed your apprehensions and not just talking from a dais with suit & tie!! Yes I too fully feel that the problems of the poor (both rural & urban) must be fully addressed for democracy to survive and thrive.
