Periyar was just vindictive against 1 stupid Brahmin and thought and succeded in getting political advantage with his Brahmin Bashing. The other upper caste who were even worse than Brahmins in treating lower castes were on Periyar's side. Dalits are treated really very badly in Tamil nadu and therewas a 60 mnt show on CBS once.BTW Periyar was from AP and he could'nt stand a chance with reddys and kammas there who would have swallowed him so he came to TN found a brahmin Bashing nisch for himself.
