Incomplete insight
by sriram sriram on Dec 17, 2007 08:16 PM

While there is NO doubt this is an interesting perspective on morals in Indian context and thereof, it is rather simplistic to attribute Modi's meteoric growth merely to contextual morality abberations. The support and over-bearing persona that Modi commands today across the country is NOT merely a fascist response to liberal-centrist. It is culmination of the utter callousness towards the majority's perspective in the name of secularism. It marks the inflection point where minority appeasement ala the Nehruvian Kashmir policy does NOT cut anymore.
