Violence against Doctors in AP
by bharati chatti on Dec 17, 2007 05:40 PM

AP Government lacks courage in dealing with the violence unleashed against doctors by minorities.

In the past one month, there have been three incidents of politicians and members of Muslim community assaulting doctors in some hospital or other. Despite the doctors going on strike, the manner in which the judges harangued the doctors and ordered them to go back to their work. The doctors were pressurised to go back to work on the basis of empty promises of secutiry provision etc., That immediately within a week of the promise, another attack could take place on doctors shows how hollow that promise has been.
By not acting against MIM legislators and Owaisis, inspite their violence against either Taslima, or Government servants on duty, AP Government is failing in its duty.

If the Government does not take steps to contain the violence of MIM, then there will be a build up of strong resentment against minority population which could lead to communal clashes in our state. ( like the way it happend in Godhra few years ago.)

The Government should take steps to avoid build up of such an atmosphere in AP.
