RE:5 killed as building collapses in Mumbai
by Sheetal Kaur on Dec 14, 2007 06:09 PM

This clearly shows that the laws created to protect and avoid this kind of mishaps are not being implemented.
the regulations of building and building control are not being followed.
Contractors work is of third rate, with corners cut every where to make maximum profit,
The supervisors are not competent people perhaps with zero knowledge of building trade.
The inspectors are not qualified to to inspect building works.
Work is being carried out with out proper drawings and plans.
Surveyors are not following the calculations.
Load bearing structure is being interfered with.
Just imagine what would have happened if the building was occupied by families.
Who would be held responsible then and Now.
It seems the the saying "LAW IS AN ASS" applies to India best
