Al communist regimes have been known to meddle with religious beliefs so is China.
Chinese have nothing to fear from Tibet and they should give autonomy to Tibet and let them live peacefully.
They should also give up their expansionist policies and give some more freedom to their citizens. Insecurity is a sure sign of decline and China displays it constantly , whatever they may claim otherwise.
