This article should be sent to and also read by all the Bishops in India and other Christian missionaries. The Central and state governments, and leading politicians should also read this. A person leaves a religion for various reasons. It is OK if one leaves by himself or herself. But for another to preach and convert is to assume superiority over the other individual. In Kerala we seldom find the Churches attempting conversion of other religious groups. The family of a person converting feels hurt. Orissa has seen this problem over two years. The Missionaries did not stop. They have gone and saught the help of Maoists to even Kill a religiouis leader. Does Christianity preach this? We have seen the consequences. I am ashamed to be a Christian, if that is so. We do not need numbers. We need people with compassion, to be Christians. We can serve, Hindus, Mulims or Jews or even Atheists, if they are in need, without asking them to even recognise Jesus. That is Christianity. Hindus over centuries have not tried to convert others. They have accepted people of all other faith. Christians and Muslims should look inward, for the present situation in India.
