Conversion or a business opportunity
by Sriram Ramarathnam on Dec 28, 2007 01:49 PM

How is it that one finds no preacher or evangelist in Kashmir or old Hyderabad or any other Muslim colony trying to convert the way they do elsewhere in India?
Should say Indonesia, Malaysia Saudi etc too are very fertile grounds for the Pope to "harvest souls". I have hardly come across these born again churches etc in Muslim dominated areas in India.
If one were to extend the marketing angle to this, this harvesting goes on only in those "markets" where the missionaries have an access. In Muslim dominated areas and Kashmir, I shudder to think as to what would have happened to these preachers had they done an Orissa there. What would CPM say then?
