Catherine, that is just a difference in parenting styles and values you imbibe in your kids. It is not a new or Indian concept. People who break the rules and do what we perceive to be "wrong" always gain in the short term. In the long term, I am not sure, maybe sometimes they do gain. That is where all the concepts of religion come in. The Gita talking about how you will be born as a dog or whatever, I am not sure what the equivalent in the bible is, but I am sure there is sufficient invisible punishment for sin. Everywhere, there are people who believe the best way to get ahead is to push others down and there are people who refuse to do wrong and are ready to suffer for it. Just depends on how you want your kids to grow up.
