This incidence is just a symptom of the bigger problem of our society- a cultural crisis.
One problem is media- that shows violence, sex and agression day in and day out, and then sheds crocodile's tears when such incidences.
Our society no longer values values of kindness, honesty and simplicity. To be shrewd, dishonest and manipulative is being 'cool' for new generation and the parents support them in this.
Teachers- the foundation of any society, the mould in which the future of any country takes shape- are the most neglected, least paid and least respected lot. Ask any bright student-s/he wants to be MBA or Software engineer- no one wants to be a teacher. And why should they, when no one respects teachers, they are not paid well?
Consequently, many of the teachers are actually less qualified people who could not make it to better things in life. They are unable to teach well, forget about inculcating virtues in today's children.
And last but not the least, are the politicians like Arjun Singh and Ambumani Ramdoss, whose only contribution to the educational institute of the country is controversy, maligning and downgrading, be it IIT, IIM or AIIMS. These buggers have all the time in life to o tamasha for non issues, but rarely find time, efforts and resources to bring primary education in order.
Our country has surely gone to the dogs, and this is just the beginning. Imagine after 25 years when these kids grow up, what will happen to India?
