Sheela Bhatt's Magnum Opus
by Jahnavi on Dec 11, 2007 02:05 PM

This is the longest report filed by Sheels Bhatt during the Guj elections - her Magnum Opus? She is at pains to illuminate us on why Modi MAY not win, why he SHOULD not win, even if he wins, why it is NOT a win unless he gets 130 plus, even if he does that, it is not HIS WIN but Congress' inability...etc etc.
What Modi is doing is "Communal Engineering" and what Congress is doing is "Social Engineering"!
Let me quote more directly from her report -
"Modi connects to people on the national issues with funny phrases and spicy local dialect." She prefers speeches tanged with Italian and reading from prepared papers. And she doesn't think a leader should connect to his electorate. Funny phrases?
"In the television era, when personality is more important than issues...........
when 'fact is fiction, TV is reality'" - have you suddenly discovered how 'Unreal' media is?? How 'real' are YOU?
"Modi has clarity, voters think" - she doesn't think so?
"The Congress leaders in some pockets .... Quite intelligently, they resort to mimicry with the help of folk tales and local dialect" - if Congress leaders use local dialect, they are 'intelligent'. But Modi uses 'funny' phrases in local dialect!!
"Modi has raised Gujarati parochialism and supported only big industries,..."like tribals, Dalits, fisher folk -- marginalised." - which government in India ensured 100% dev in just 5 years? Can't these tribals, dalits, fisher folk wait for another 5 years? After all the rest of the count
