Many times in past too there were many reports that he would be entering politics.It was perceived that his movie "Muta masthri" was a run up move to his entry into politics. He was projected as people's leader and honest politician in that movie.As the movie didn't do the expected business and didn't evoke a thumping response from all sections of people, it was believed that the actor retracted his decision to enter politics. Later, many kapu community leaders inlcuding Dasari Naryana Rao made desparate attempts to convince Chiru to enter politics. But, it appears that till date the actor has not made up his mind to join politics.
